Lovely Corn Maiden Kachina

Hand carved from the root of the Cottonwood tree and hand painted.

“The Corn Maiden is a prevalent figure in Hopi, Zuni, and other Southwestern Pueblo cultures. She represents fertility, growth, and the nurturing of crops. Often distinguished by the color of corn she carries (e.g., Blue, Yellow, or White), her presence is a profound prayer for a bountiful harvest and sustenance.”

Kachina measures approximately 5 3/4 inches tall (base included) and stands on a 2 1/4 inch long and 2 inches wide wooden base.

Signed on the bottom of base.
