Miniature Falcon Kachina carved from wood and embellished with fabric, fibers and feathers.
“A falcon kachina, often called a Kisa or Prairie Falcon kachina, is a Hopi carving that represents a swift and sharp-eyed hunter. This kachina is associated with speed because it is believed to be a fast runner, similar to the bird it represents, and sometimes carries yucca whips to punish runners it catches during ceremonies.”
Measures 2 1/2 inches tall and stands on a 1 inch round base.
Signed on bottom of base.
