Gorgeous female Butterfly Maiden Kachina made out of multiple inlaid stones and shells.
“The Butterfly Maiden Kachina is a prominent figure in Hopi and Zuni mythology and ceremonial life. It represents spring, fertility, agricultural renewal, and the life-giving rain necessary for the crops.”
Stones/Shells: Pink Mussel Shell, Turquoise, Jet, Coral, Mother of Pearl, Gold Lip Mother of Pearl, and Spiny Oyster Shell.
Some stones and shell are carved to add texture to piece.
All cased in Sterling Silver.
Hook bale has a 1/8 of an inch opening and 1 1/2 inch pin on the back.
Piece comes with Picture Jasper stand to help keep Kachina on display when not wearing.
Entire piece is 3 inches long (includes base), 1 3/8 inches wide, 4 inches tall (base included).
Pin/pendant by itself measures 2 1/2 inches long, 3/8 of an inch thick, and 3 3/4 inches tall.
