Meticulously hand carved from the root of the Cottonwood tree and hand painted.
Butterfly Maiden is wearing a Tabletta head piece.
“Butterfly Maiden is a kachina, or spirit being, in Hopi mythology. Every spring she dances from flower to flower, pollinating the fields and flowers and bringing life-giving rain.”
Kachina measure approximately 2 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, and 8 inches tall.
Signed on the bottom of the base “Tyson Nequatewa” and “Hopi Butterfly”.
