Sterling Silver hand fabricated Kachina – the Wuyak-Kuita.
“The Wuyak-kuita, or Broadface Katsina, is a Hopi guard kachina known for appearing at the rear of the Bean Dance procession to enforce proper behavior. Often called a “whipper” kachina, he patrols the sides of processions and terrifies clowns with yucca fronds. As a protector, his image is frequently hung inside homes.”
Stands approximately 4 5/8 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide, base is 1 7/8 inches all around.
Stamped “Jeffrey Castillo sterling” on the bottom of the base, along with “Wuyak Kuita”.
