Colorful Red Bearded Long Hair Kachina.

Hand carved from the root of the Cottonwood tree and hand painted.

“The Red Beard Long Hair Kachina is a widely revered spirit dancer in Hopi and Pueblo cultures, originally adopted from the Zuni. It is primarily a bringer of gentle, soaking rains and springtime renewal, traditionally appearing in groups during summer ceremonies.”

Kachina measures approximately 11 1/8 inches tall (includes the 3 1/2 inch feather on its head) and stands on a 2 1/4 inch by 2 1/8 inch wooden base.
