Six cardinal directions fetish is defined by the six cardinal directions (the four points plus above and below), with the village at the center. Each direction is protected by a specific animal guardian associated with a unique healing or hunting power.

– The base fetish is a Mole carved out of Jet.
The mole is the guardian of the inner earth, protector of the growing crops and the underworld.
– The top fetish is an Eagle carved out of Serpentine with turquoise eyes.
The eagle is the protector of the heavenly regions, a soaring spirit that transcends personal problems, and a connection to the Divine.
– The bottom (as in the first picture) is a Mountain Lion carved out of Onyx with jet eyes.
The mountain Lion is the protector of the North and signifies leadership and resourcefulness.
– The Bear fetish carved out of Turquoise with jet eyes.
The bear is the protector of the West and signifies strength and inner power to perceive one’s present circumstances.
– The bottom (as in the 3rd picture) is a Wolf carved out of Jasper with jet eyes.
The wolf is the protector of the East and it represents a teacher, a pathfinder on the never-ending journey for survival.
– The Badger fetish carved out of Pipestone with jet eyes.
The badger is the protector of the South and it signifies the ability to reach a desired goal.

Each animal (except the eagle) has a Mother of Pearl Shell arrowhead on its back while the eagle has a turquoise bead, a spiny oyster shell bead, and a coral bead all bundled together.

Complete fetish measures 2 1/2 inches long, 2 inches wide, and 1 1/4 inches tall.
