Beautiful Corn Maiden Kachina

Hand carved from the root of the Cottonwood tree and hand painted.

“The Corn Maiden is a prevalent figure in Hopi, Zuni, and other Southwestern Pueblo cultures. She represents fertility, growth, and the nurturing of crops. Often distinguished by the color of corn she carries (e.g., Blue, Yellow, or White), her presence is a profound prayer for a bountiful harvest and sustenance.”

Kachina measures approximately 14 inches tall and stands on a 3 1/2 inch by 3 1/4 inch wooden base.

Signed on the bottom of base.
