Vintage woven basket that was originally purchased in 1995 from Natalie Linn who is well known as a basketry expert.

Basket is from Klamath tribe that is from the Oregon region.

Beadwork is done over tule with diagonal lines and colors then woven into the basket.

“Native American basket weaving is an ancient and sacred craft with deep historical roots in daily life and ceremony. Baskets were essential for practical purposes like storing food, carrying water, and transporting goods, while also serving ceremonial and cultural roles.”

Baskets need to be tightly knit that it can hold liquids.

Outer basket measures 2 3/4 inches in length and width and is 2 1/4 inches tall.
